MASASA BEACH: A Quick Travel Guide 2019

This is my first trip for this year with my travel buds! We were looking for a quick escape that is somehow nearby Manila where we can just relax, catch up and be lazy AF - and Masasa Beach in Tingloy, Batangas is the perfect spot at the time! I've also heard from the grapevine that this creamy mixture of fine sand and tiny rocks is said to be the home of Marina Cave where this Filipino Teleserye, Marina was shot. Interesting eh?

I felt that we were so lucky when we got here as there were almost no tourists in the area. The place was so serene. It got me really excited to spend time here with my best pals. The travel time to reach the beach is roughly around 3-4 hours and would require you to go through different modes of transportation if you are planning to go DIY.

There are also a bunch of activities that you can do like snorkeling and island hopping but we didn't do any of them for this trip as our main objective here again is, to become like a sack of potatoes all throughout!

HOW WE GOT TO MASASA BEACH:

  • Alabang South Station to Batangas City Grand Terminal (via air-conditioned bus): Php 150.00 per person; travel time is about 2 hours.
  • Batangas City Grand Terminal to Anilao Port (via Jeepney): Php 40.00 per person; travel time is about 45 minutes.

  • Anilao Port to Tingloy Port (via boat): Php 50.00 per head plus Php 30.00 environmental fee; travel time is about 45 minutes to an hour.
    • There is also another route which goes directly towards Masasa Beach. However, there are fewer boats going that route. I would suggest for you to ask questions around to see if there are boats sailing directly to Masasa - If ever you found one, the transportation fee would be Php 100.00.
    • I also recommend buying your consumables at Anilao Port, like fresh food ingredients. Items are much cheaper here compared to those sold at Masasa Beach.

  • Tingloy Port to Mahabang Buhanginan (via tricycle): Php 20.00
    • You can have two options to reach Masasa Beach at this point. You can either:
      • Ride another boat to reach Masasa Beach for Php 25.00; travel time is about 10-15 minutes,
      • Or go directly to your chosen accommodation by foot (for free! LOL).

WHERE WE STAYED:

We stayed at Nanay Rosie's Beach Resort and I must say that we indeed had an awesome stay with them. Maybe probably because there were not much tourists when we were there so we felt a bit extra special, I don't know. Regardless, they were all very accommodating and warm!

They have accommodations from campsite (starting at Php 120.00), to a regular, non air-conditioned to air-conditioned rooms. We got lucky that we were able to stay to in a cottage placed at the highest part of the resort. The view is just fantastic!

For the specifics of Nanay Rosie's amenities and rates, I recommend contacting them through their Facebook page or through their contact details displayed on the photo below.

Here are some of the other photos taken during the trip!

Also, here's a short video to cap everything up!
